Stay safe when looking for work

Never pay to get a job

Real employers in Saudi Arabia don't charge for visas, training or jobs. If someone asks you for money, it's a scam.

How do I spot a fake job?

Watch for three signs: they ask you for money, the interview happens only on WhatsApp, or the pay is far above normal for the job.

Someone asked me to pay a fee. What should I do?

Don't pay. Report the ad on KSAList and call the labour ministry on 19911.

Can my employer keep my passport?

No. Under Saudi rules your passport and iqama belong to you. Keeping them without your consent is not allowed.

Is it safe to go to an interview at a flat or café?

Meet at the company's office during working hours, and tell a friend where you are going.

Who do I call about a work problem?

Labour ministry (HRSD): 19911 · Police: 911 · Human Rights Commission: 1800.
